Description
Tall Tales looks like something straight from Walt Disney World's Wilderness Lodge! Walk in and you're surrounded by a ski lodge atmosphere with woodbeam ceilings and all the wonders of the outdoors right at your finger tips. This place is BIG and BOLD...and the food's the same. REAL food. Burgers, Pizzas from a coal fire oven, tender Rotisserie Chicken, hearty soups...the menu focuses on real food made from scratch, on-site. There are gourmet specialties as well. Seared Ahi Tuna, fresh locally caught fish, hand tossed pizzas, and specialty burgers are sure to please everyone. They have a full liquor bar as well as oxygenated wine taps for keeping opened wine bottles fresh which makes wine by the glass a great choice. They also have many different import and domestic beers available. Happy Hour is 3pm - 7pm everyday
Because they're located in Gander Mountain (a great store for anything that has to do with camping, fishing, hiking, etc.), plan on making a night of it. If you love the outdoors, your're going to love Tall Tales.
We have to mention that to get to this restaurant you have to find Gander Mountain first - no easy feat. Better signage, which apparently the city prohibits, would guide you to the road behind Home Depot off Northlake. But once you find it, you're in another world - that of Minnesota hunting lodges, or timber-built ski lodges in Colorado - it's warm but cavernous at the same time. Would we go back? We already have been. but it's no tall tale to say we recommend this eatery.

Our family just had dinner at Tall Tales and it was great from start to finish. The atmosphere is very upscale but not stuffy. Not at all what I pictured before going. Staff was attentive and very friendly. Kids eat free on Mondays. I had the classic burger, dh had the venison sliders, and dd had the kids pizza. Everything was delicious, even the kids pizza was real freshly made pizza, not some frozen "kid's style" garbage. Interesting menu items like buffalo burgers and elk steaks along with more traditional classic dishes as well.
Outstanding!

The food was scrumptious and abundant. We had the Butternut Squash Soup and the Shrimp Pasta. Honestly, I never expected it to be as good as it was. The atmosphere of the restaurant reminded me of the Disney's Wilderness Lodge in

I want you to know that my family and I really (throughly enjoyed) our dinner last night at TALL TAILS ! It was my son's Birthday and this experience made it even more special.
Excellent service, delightful dinner. My duck was awesome. Everyone was very happy and pleased. Could not ask for anything more! Mark was our waiter and was attentive and kept coming back to see is we needed anything! Great job, I suggest that maybe you all should consider opening more of these establishments.....I think you have a gold mine and don't even know it!
