Description
"Skorpio's II" you ask? Where is Skorpio's I? Those who have made friends with the owners know the answer. The original is located in Long Island and has been in business for over 30 years. Skorpio's II has been serving up great Greek and Mediterranean food to South Floridians in the know for more than seven.
It isn't a fancy place. But so many great little "finds" aren't. They just serve great food. Greek music plays on the sound system. There are posters and photos on the walls. There are a few tables outdoors if you want to take your meal overlooking the parking lot. Again...not fancy...it's all about the FOOD!
Dinner entrees come with soup, Greek Salad, Rice Pilaf, vegetable and homemade Greek cookies. A great value. According to food critic John Tanasychuck, the Moussaka approaches perfection. It features layers of eggplant, potatoes and chopped meat with a bechamel sauce over top. The Greek Lemon Chicken soup is also must-try.
There are lots of great appetizers. The Saganaki is excellent...Greek Kasseri cheese is fried and then flamed and covers a layer of fresh tomatoes. Spinach pie is a generous slice with just the right amount of spinach and feta between golden layers of phyllo. Then there are the classic Greek salads served with just the right amount of feta cheese, black olives, fresh tomatoes and the perfect homemade dressing. And of course if you've got a sweet tooth, nothing beats homemade Greek desserts. Among Skorpios offerings are Baklava, Rice Pudding and their famous Galactobureko (strudel leaves filled with custard) which was featured in Bon Appetit Magazine!
So, head to Skorpio's II in Lake Worth when you want a excellent meal for a great price. It's a lot closer than Skorpio's I!
