An example of the true American Dream success story, the founder of Azteca Restaurants Jose "Pepe" Ramos was once dubbed the Mexican Horatio Alger of Seattle. He "borrowed" his grandmother Mama Camerina's recipes and opened his first little restaurant in 1974 in Burien, Washington. With the help of his brothers Hector, Jaime and Victor, the 24-seat cantina snowballed into over 35 Azteca Mexican Restaurants throughout the country, serving more than 400,000 happy customers every month!
Now we have our own right here in Davie. The lively Cantina serves up Azteca's famous Ramosrita Margaritas, Sizzling Fajitas and Award Winning Nachos making every visit a fiesta! The authentic menu features a variety of Mexican salads, soups, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and a "Little Amigo™ " selection, specifically designed for children, all served in a warm Hacienda-style atmosphere. Azteca also features a broad range of non-alcoholic beverages, and entrees available for those watching calories, featuring Broiled Chicken Breasts served with Rancho (cholesterol-free) beans.
Today, many grandchildren have joined Azteca to ensure that Grandma Camerina's multiple award-winning recipes from Cuautla, Mexico will continue to be enjoyed. Try her famous Nachos, Margaritas, Sizzling Fajitas, freshly made tortillas and handmade salsa. Pepe's recipe for success?
