Cristoforo Pignata, an Italian entrepreneur with several years of experience in the hotel business, decided it was time for downtown Miami to enjoy the flavors of his beloved hometown of Naples. So by combining the metropolitan Miami style with the typically friendly atmosphere of Naples, he successfully got right to the point (or "puntino") when he opened Puntino.
It's sleek, striking, and filled with vibrant artwork and fresh flowers, yet casual and inviting. Goldilocks would approve, according to New Times Magazine, because the Puntino menu uses just the right number of ingredients, "... like in Italy, [where] the Neopolitan chefs ... let the ingredients speak for themselves ... a very good sign." Appetizers are simple and bold, like Bruschetta and a Carpaccio di Manzo of thinly sliced filet mignon, dressed and topped with shaved Parmagiana. Colorful, bright salads include Frutti Tropicali, with mango, papaya, avocado and hearts of palm. Add savory homemade soups, an irresistible list of pasta, panini, pizza, fresh fish and succulent meat dishes, plus cheese selections, an assortment of vegetable side dishes and four decadent desserts.
The slogan at Puntino is "Finally, real Italian food in town." Sounds, and tastes, delicious!
