An inviting French-American Bistro located in the heart Abacoa Town Center, Le Metro is not only stunning to see, but even more stunning to taste. Chef Christian Alunno, a native of Nice, France, and his charming wife Mary Ellen have created the best of all possible worlds—a neighborhood cafe that is visually delightful and serves excellent food of the highest quality. Striking marble tortoise shell accents, zebra carpeting and burgundy banquettes and chair seats are as magnifique as the cuisine; elegant but never pretentious.
The Bouillabaise is full of imported fish, lobster and shellfish, bathed in a flavorful garlic saffron broth, and served with chunks of toasted baguettes for dipping. The tender Beef Short Rib, the imported Dover Sole Meuniere, Mussels Mariniere, the simply exquisite fresh fish choices, the classic Filet au Poivre, and the Rack of lamb with Dijon mustard and fresh herb Crust are incomparable. For wine lovers, there's a nice selection of reasonably priced wines by the glass or bottle. But the piece de resistance is the decadent dessert menu. How about homemade Profiteroles filled with rich ice cream and chocolate sauce? Or a Cafe Liegeois reminiscent of a Parisian sidewalk café...
Service is excellent with a friendly waitstaff -- more like cordial hosts and hostesses -- who understand the menu and will gladly answer any questions. A visit to Le Metro is an affordable, delicious rendezvous.
