Enjoy a meal in Peru without ever leaving South Florida! La Rosa Nautica proved to be SO popular in Boca Raton that they opened a second location at the Mill Lake Plaza at the NW corner of Military Trail and Lake Worth Rd. in Greenacres! The new location is just as dedicated to showcasing authentic Peruvian food as their Boca counterpart.
Ceviche -- bits of fresh fish and seafood "cooked" in fresh lime juice and seasoned with bright spices -- is the star of the menu. The excellent Ceviche de Pescado is topped with thinly sliced red onions, large Peruvian corn kernels, and sweet potato, which offsets the tartness of the lime. Fried yucca sticks with a cheese sauce are an exciting alternative to the usual French fries.
For a delightful thirst quencher, sip a Chicha Morada, a refreshing fruit drink made with purple corn and pineapple. The soups are hot and satisfying, especially the Caldo de Choritos, a fabulous chowder brimming with tender mussels. For a delicious meal in a bowl, savor the Parihuela, a seafood soup overflowing with crabmeat, shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari, octopus and fish. The Paella Valenciana is a beautiful platter of shellfish, chicken and sausage piled onto a bed of fragrant yellow rice. La Rosa Nautica offers an array of grilled steaks, chicken and fish specialties, and you MUST try the rich coffee and sinful homemade desserts, like Flan de Caramelo (caramel custard), Crepes, and Peruvian Ice Cream.
